Geraldine Byrne always practised a healthy lifestyle but she has now turned this passion into a successful award-winning business. Geraldine believes in taking a whole-body approach to skincare where clean eating, regular exercise, and de-stress massage techniques promote skin health as much as clinical skin treatments.
The idea for laser, skincare and wellbeing company Mediskin, which she opened in Nenagh, Co Tipperary in November 2014, came when Geraldine was managing a busy skin clinic in Dublin.
She found that clients wanted results-based treatments with little or no down time and that were as non-invasive as possible.
After 12 years working in the fields of advanced skincare systems, aromatherapy, massage as well as diet and nutrition, Geraldine was perfectly placed to come up with the solution.
Mediskin now offers a wide range of services and products to help improve and correct any skin concerns such as unwanted hair, acne, pigmentation, broken veins, and aging.
The company has won a number of awards with Geraldine Highly Commended in the Network Ireland National Business Woman of the Year Awards in 2015. She was also named Network North Tipperary Business Woman of the Year in the Emerging Business category in 2015 and won the same award in the Established Business category this year.
Geraldine documents her healthy lifestyle in a popular blog, which was a finalist in the All Ireland Blog Awards 2015.
Participating in ACORNS has given Geraldine greater drive and she plans to expand her blog and further increase her staff of five to help with an exciting new project she is working on.
